Krystal Chang is Otherwild's Winter 2020/2021 Window Artist-in-Residence and designed this shirt for the occasion.

In 1965, Allen Ginsberg wrote “Demonstration as Spectacle, as Example, as Communication” to provide a list of ideas for how to counteract violence at a march protesting the Vietnam war. The first item on the list was “masses of flowers.” For years, flowers have been held up as symbols of nonviolent resistance, of celebration and mourning, as a gesture of defiant beauty, both peace sign and protest symbol at the same time.

Krystal Chang is a designer of flowers, installations, and landscapes in Los Angeles. Working across these disciplines provides a means of engaging completely different scales of time, from the ephemeral bloom of a flower to the years-in-the-making of a house and the perpetual coming-into-being of a landscape.

On the front, t-shirt reads "Flowers for Peace Flowers for Protest", one sleeve reads "Rose is a Rose is a Rose" and the other sleeve reads "Bread for All, and Roses Too"
