Boy Smells Candles - CHROMESTHESIA COLLECTION
CHROMESTHESIA —A behavior which produces a visual impression based on stimuli; in this case, through scent. Each candle in this new collection from Boy Smells was designed in coordination with the color of its packaging. They also combine essential oils matched with their molecular identicals; merging nature and the instinct to replicate it. Decadently named, these candles are best described as hyper-natural.

De Nîmes: almond, rhubarb, violet, ambergris, blueberry, and juniper
Named after the city of Nîmes, France where denim workwear was first produced hundreds of years ago, this candle has the quiet, cool quality of French indigo. Notes of blueberry and rhubarb mingle with darker woods and juniper berry. Eucalyptus, almond and violet ground this scent with a provencial earthiness, while ambergris gives a seaside minerality.
Damasque: rose, apricot, labdanum, cardamom, oud, cistus, guiac and tobacco
Deep stone fruits, with baroque old-world opulence, exotic traces of burnt spices, and dark woods. The rich intertwining of these scent notes is just as luxurious as the woven Damask fabric for which it is named. Damascan rose mingles with apricot, resins of labdanum and cistus, and moody oud to create a scarlet red impression upon smelling.
Philia: ambrette seed, bitter orange, cassis, nutmeg, orris, musk and hazelnut
Philia is a deep, flora drenched tonic—softend by ambrette seed and bitter orange. The name stems from the suffix denoting fondness, especially an extreme affinity for any specific thing. In this moment, it is a yearning for sweet, musky bouquets of orris and cassis fruit. Sensual, but highly sophisticated, it produces a palpable tension.
