“Digestif” is a term used to describe a class of alcohol-based infusions traditionally consumed after meals to support digestion. We made Wild Bitters in the spirit of these remedies, but without alcohol.
When with our mouths we taste the bitter flavor, our bodies begin a series of processes that help stimulate digestion and bring digestive ease. Wild Bitters is a delightfully bitter tonic that can be taken after meals to help soothe the discomfort that comes with heavy end-of-year feasts.
This formula is crafted from five simple ingredients, with plants grown or foraged in New York state: Yellow Dock root, whose flavor brings full-on bitterness that makes the taste buds stand at attention; organic Ginger rhizome, offering a warming, peppery and pungent bite; Black Walnut hulls (the outer shell of the walnuts we eat in cakes and cookies!), which give a nutty, soft but sharp fullness, along with water and organic evaporated cane sugar.
Add one tablespoon to seltzer for a lovely, alcohol-free holiday beverage!
