Designed and created by artist Anne McCaddon, Coatz combines the traditional Japanese haori form with the basic painters work coat. Coatz are handmade from artfully selected vintage African indigo textiles showcasing resist-dye patterns. Each coat is one of a kind, no two are ever the same, and host their own marriage of patterns, textures, wear, and patches. All Coatz are one size, featuring long sleeves, two front pockets, and a belt.
About the fabric:
Indigo dye creates the bluest of blues and has been sought out by almost every culture and every major religion as one of the worlds most valued pigments. The indigo textiles we use are a range of blues in a range of wears which adds to the charm and uniqueness of each coat. Due to the nature of the indigo dyes transfer may occur if washed or rubbed against light colored fabrics.
